Marketing

Market the creator, not just the link.

Creator marketing works when the audience understands the identity, value and reason to follow before it reaches the payment step.

Start with audience fit

A campaign should define who is most likely to care about the creator's style, niche, language and content format. Broad exposure can look impressive while producing weak conversions.

Use different channels for different jobs

Short-form social can create discovery, owned communities can improve repeat reach, collaborations can transfer trust, and paid campaigns can add targeted visibility. Do not evaluate every channel by the same metric.

Match message to destination

If a promotion promises exclusivity, the destination must reinforce that promise. If the hook is personality, the profile should show personality immediately. Message mismatch is a common source of wasted clicks.

Measure beyond impressions

At minimum, separate reach, clicks, profile actions, subscriptions and downstream revenue when the platform provides those signals. This shows whether a problem sits in the campaign or after the campaign.

Before launching a campaign

  • Define one primary audience.
  • Choose one action you want the visitor to take.
  • Prepare the destination page or profile.
  • Set a tracking window.
  • Review the result before repeating the same placement.
